Wedding plans may change, but rings are forever

It’s not just cold winds and brisk mornings testing our patience recently. With the development of coronavirus spreading across the UK, we’ve all be feeling the pressures of lockdown, social distancing and a huge change in lifestyle. It’s safe to say we’re all eagerly anticipating the arrival of summer, in the hope that things will return to normal by then.
And who can blame us? With the summer months comes warmer weather, longer evenings, garden parties and, of course, weddings! But wedding season is likely to look a little different this year, as our unique circumstances have lead to couples facing changes in their wedding plans, with many even having to postpone.

Here at The Goldsmithy, we meet numerous new couples in the exciting planning stages of their wedding journey. It’s one of the many things we love about our job, but we know how disheartening must be to have to change your wedding plans – we have all the sympathy in the world for those who’s wedding date have sadly had to move.
If you’re someone who’s planning your wedding during these uncertain times, we want to reassure you that any changes you may have to make needn’t dampen your plans. You can still have your dream wedding and it’ll always be worth the wait.

Our workshop may be closed for the time being, but we can still be there for you and your wedding. Or, more specifically, your wedding rings.
Wedding rings are such an important part of the planning process, and we advise couples to start thinking about their wedding band designs quite far in advance – perfect for the current situation.

For lots of couples, the decision to get bespoke rings rather than buying from ordinary jeweller comes from the desire for something a little more unique or intricate. These designs are certainly not a problem at The Goldsmithy! But bear in mind these more detailed designs can take a while to complete, with a lead time of up to 6-8 months.
However, a more standard wedding ring design (such as the traditional plain, simple band) can be designed and created within a lead time of 1-3 months.

Our aim is to create the rings you dreamed of to make your day all the more special. You may already have an engagement ring with a unique shape or stone, and are looking for a wedding band that sits perfectly with it. Or perhaps have an old, inherited family ring that you’d like to re-design into something new that compliments you and the story behind it.
Whatever the vision, we can make it a reality.

We understand that wedding planning is already a whirlwind, even without these unfortunate developments. But we’re here for when this all blows over.
In the meantime, if you’re stuck at home with your wedding planner at the ready, in need of a place to start or a helping hand, take a look at our Wedding Planning Checklist. We’ve written this checklist as a timeline, to make it the perfect way for you to get everything in order for your big day.
